not really any news, but i'm just excited about the new fish i got. 3 umbees, a black nasty, and a butikoferi. right now they are all together with some dither giant danios in a 55g, but i have larger tanks for each of them when they grow larger and more aggressive. right now they are all between 1 and 1.5 inches so its no problem. anyway, they are all fat and happy and i needed an outlet for my enthusiasm.
one word of advice, make sure there is plenty of oxygenation in the tank (powerheads, airstones and plenty of water movement from filters) for the black nasty. black nastys are especially prone to bloat, and while some people believe it is due to too high a protein diet, I believe it is due to improper water quality and levels of oxygen in the water. remember they mostly come from very fast moving rivers in the wild so they are used to very clean water with lots of oxygen and this needs to be replicated in the aquarium.
I'm sure you know that soon, you will need to house them separately
