My new BBXB!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you paid a xb pricing for this piece of aro. You definatly got the right to know which farm it's from. Since you got it legally from a importer who claim that it's a xb.

My advise, give the farm a call and find out what they say about the fish you got. Seriously, this piece look like a RTG....

As a exporter myself, I will ship out our normal grade xb which at least look like a xb so that my buyer can feel at ease.

it does look like a RTG to me

i would give it until maybe 8 inch then you should be able to tell for sure

from the way you described the pick up i would say this aro was part of a group buy and if it came from who i think then it should be what it is meant to be

Hello,

Just bought a BBXB and here are some photos. Does anyone know if it is what the cert claims? My friends tell me it looks like an RTG :nilly:

I love him regardless but some expertise is appreciated!

Like the others mentioned, it is your right to verify if this fish is indeed what it is supposed to be. I would get a tag scanner (or at least borrow it from someone) and verify if the fish tag matches with the cert number.

Personally, as I am by no mean an expert, I think this fish looks a lot like an RTG (not even HBRTG). So I am a bit confused when you say "I love him regardless". It is not about love, it is about getting what you pay for.

Do not take this as an offense. I am not accusing anybody, I am just stating that a mistake could have happened.

Is this a fish from www.dragonfish.ca? If so, then you have no worries. If at 8 inches this fish is determined to be an RTG, then you can have a free replacement.

I also have a scanner, am happy to come by and scan the fish for you, make sure it matches certificate. It would make sense to do that to rule out packing error on exporter's part.

In 6 months your fish should look something like this:

More photos of past BBXB fish imported can be seen here:

The fish in the above thread came in quite large, 8-9 inches. The fish in the June order came in quite small, 4-5 inches (which is what I am guessing you have). Some photos of those little guys are here:

A video of a few of those smaller fish can be seen here:

Note that in the video you can see high shine and colouration, definitely not a simple RTG.

I just figured out that your fish was the only BBXB to come in on the late June order. All the photos of smaller BBXB's in my earlier post are from the late May order, not the June order. Thus, I have no photo record of your fish, nor of its siblings. I would like to check your fish out in person, with scanner; drop me an email to let me know your availability.

Somehow I had a feeling you would drop into this thread. Always good to see an importer that actually cares.
