bought this little curupira 2 days ago, it was such a long 18 hours of trip, but this beast has been adjusting really well, as he has eaten a ghost shrimp on the first day of arrival. Size is measured around 20 cm. A very active and aggressive little fellow. Does anyone know the grow rate of this beast?

Congratuation !!! nice fish. I do not know the growth rate but i know that you will not warry about its appetite. Because it will eat anythings. Your fish is about 20 cm, there is some potential to increase the length, but my fish is 14 inches. It grows interms of width than the length. You can decorate your tank with the wood and some plants and many kind of fish can live with it.

thanks alot, I am now hunting for some driftwood, and perhaps some plastic plants. That's a very nice beast curupira you got there, how long have you had it? and do you feed him live or dead food? I put mine with common pleco,
cheers

For that fish, i got it for 6 month, i feed it with prawn. It ate 6-8 prawn per day. The first curupira is showed in this picture. It stay with me for 1 year. The size is increase from 5.5 inch to 10 inches in 1 year. It also ate the prawn too.

nice pick up

thanks man

lovely little black. They're not the quickest growing, nor the slowest but once they hit about 16", they really slow down. in 18 months, my guy has gone from 16" to about 18".
