My New black

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lovely little black. They're not the quickest growing, nor the slowest but once they hit about 16", they really slow down. in 18 months, my guy has gone from 16" to about 18".

Thanks man, may I know what do you feed yours?

Mine is quite fussy and goes through phases where he'll accept certain things and not others.

At the moment, the 'in thing' is frozen prawn from Sainsbury's (Superstore in the UK). He has eaten Tesco's prawns but recently went off of them and wont touch ASDA/Walmart prawns as they clearly have Aids/the plague/ necrotising fasciitis. Fresh Muscle used to be a favourite but he stopped accepting those and the same for whitebait. When I last got really concerned that he wasn't eating, I resorted to Convicts which he absolutely loved. The trouble was I had to starve him again to get him back onto dead.

As I say; fussy...

thanks for sharing, I guess I will try to give mine with non live food first,..
cheers

My black would also take massivore pellets along with shrimp, tilapia, silversides and the occasional piece of chicken and live crawfish. I've had two blacks and both were great eaters. I don't think you'll have a problem, enjoy the wolf!!

thanks man, I'll see how it goes with mine,
cheers

Nice wolf, as said average growth rate and will slow when reaching the mid teens.

They are far from fussy and will eat many meaty foods. I feed mussel and various fish meats. Mynheers_a_pint will agree that if given plenty of space they become much more active and open swimmers.
