My new breeding pair of red devils

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice fish, especially the female. Did the people you get these from ever grow the fry out and note any of the colors they got? I used to breed striped, white, orange, and yellow amphilophus citrinellus and was always amazed at the different shades and colors that resulted. Keep us posted as the fry grow out!

No, sadly he always just got rid of them he says he got one of them in Phoenix and the other one from Vegas though.

These two aren't that aggressive towards each other, the person I got them from had them together their entire lives with out any problems and I've had them now going on 4 months and this is there second spawn without much aggression towards one another. If things ever do get too rough for her, I'll through in a divider. Thanks for the advice though.

Not sure But the guy got them from was pretty adamant about them being Red Devils not midevils. I dont care eather way, i realy love them my self. I think they look like deviles not midevils. What do you guys think?

PwNz I R COLE,I was wondering if maybe we could trade some fry so I can establish another non related breeding pair:D:D

I don't ship but I have some inchers I could give you if thats the case .but I've noticed with midevils is that the midas snout is a dominant gene and your female appears to have this your male looks to be pure he has some nice sized lips they still could be pure. you said they arent aggressive I've noticed that midevils aren't nearly as agressive as pure devil.mine acts like a dovii bites at the glass the second I walk in the room it depends on the fish to sadly we will never know for sure what those genes are still good fish I just wouldn't sell any of the fry from them not knowing the genes. another thing is this pair was probably naturally bonded being as they haven killed each other throwing some of mine in there wouldn't ensure a nice pair my male has already almost killed my female and I have a divider

I didn't maen that they arnt aggressive, he almost beat her to death when I got them I had to put in my two male jack Dempseys to help curb aggression away from her, I didn't have a divider back then. About a week after I was able to remove my dempseys back to there tank and all has been well. I think he was just establishing his tank. They have spawned twice now since then and this is the first successful one. The first one they ate the eggs. Again I think it was just the new tank. They seam to be real happy now and she seams to always be yelling at him when there is a bunch of people in my fish room. Like she wants him to get the people out of the room. Its kinda funny.

Anyway here are some pictures from today.

I would leave the fry in as long as possible I took all mine out and the male got so pissed at that he ran into the divider at full speed and bear her up when I woke up all was fine but when I left for the flea market I came back to her hiding in her flower pot with her fins destroyed but his fins were a little messed up too
