if u feed well ,a year he can grow to maybe 20' but it depends , the normal size of these fish is about 20'-23'. the pattern maybe change when it grow up. become curve.

I think you ment to put 20-26". Unless your thinking of the wrong species tigurinus max around 26". I don't even think any of the shovel nose catfish species grow past 5'.

after all it's just a Conservative said. and it depends on the fish . some fish will grow bigger and some just not that big. it's like Obama and Dwight Howard. the official size is 500mm( about 19', plantcatfish.com). i m sure some tiger will grow bigger than that.

Good looking tig! Mine is around 22", I noticed his growth started slowing down around 18", he started to bulk up instead.

and of course i said "the normal size of these fish" i agree the max is around 26 maybe bigger.
