Sweet looking monitor you got there... how big do they get when they are fully grown???

start workign on a bigger cage. mine was over 3 feet in a year. i had a 4 foot wide, 4 foot tall, and 8 foot long cage built and he made it look small. at 3 yrs he was 6 foot and 30 pounds. they are awesome!!! i sold mine because i felt the enclosure was to small. guy in az had an outdoor 16 foot by 10 foot enclosure and a female waiting for him!!!!! i miss him though. everytime i got to a her show and see them tiny and cute i want another........someday. have fun, and start making that big enclosure!! they eat a ton! mine loved mice, rats, crayfish, crickets, roaches, mealworms, nightcrawlers, and pretty much anything else i threw in there that was meaty. and be ready, the are one smart lizard!

shame you had to get rid of him..
Already have plans for a big enclosure, for both him and a future mate and my crocodile monitor pair (future).
there enclosure is going to be about 30L by 22'w by 8-10' H, and his will be a little smaller probably 15L by 12'W and 6-8'H.
but so far he has eaten 4 f/t pinkies, 5 mealworms, and about 12 calcium dusted crickets since i got him, and moves about the whole enclosure. Havn't seen him drink yet though..
