I think you're right- looking at the Jaw shape it's not an Ocell. and is a Mono but frankly, that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I know it was imported from SA for sure but obviously, it puts doubts on it's source location.

No matter, I still think it's a really nice fish.

What would everyone say if i thought it was a Female?

Good to hear he's settling well. Has he healed up ok?

What kind of wolf fish?

I have two species- Hoplerythrinus Unitaentus and Hoplias Curupira. In the tank with the bass I have currently a single Hoplerythrinus U. at about 13" and my Curupira which is closer to 17". I do have some more Hoplerythrinus growing out in another tank but the largest is still only 10".

MONO. If not then its a hybrid. The head is way wrong for the ocell. Sorry if its been stated. I have not read through.
