Hi everyone. I just got a new male cobra pike from SharkAquarium yesterday. First off, let me say that George from SharkAquarium provides excellent service and great quality fish. The Pike arrived active and healthy. Its about 7-8 inches and showing its adult coloration.
Here are some pictures that I took today:

Why did you getta male? LoL! Looking great...you 100% its Crenicichla sp. 'cobra'? hahahaha

I dont have a preference when it comes to sex because I think both are beautiful. I just got what George gave me and I couldn't be happier. I am pretty sure that it is sp. Cobra. What else would it be? Tapajos red?

Its just that in both species the females are the KNOCK OUTs!! The males are top notch, but the females are SHOWCASE HOTT!! LoL. Possibility that it might be tapajos red...;).

Notice the humeral blotch and more elongated body....cobras are more stocky, and I am pretty sure they lack the humeral blotch...;).

OUTSTANDING!

Sweeet cobra. You keeping it with those blochii's?(sp) I thought I saw one dash by. If so, hows that workin' for you? I'm thinking about getting one, maybe two, for my 75G when I get my Cincta. I was considering a megladoras irwini, but if I got the blochii(sp) I could keep it in the 75G for life.

Sweet Cobra though, love the mouth gape pic!

Yeah, the cobra and the blochii's are in the same tank and its been working out really well. There hasn't been the slightest bit of aggression between them. For the most part, they leave each other alone. The Blochii's patrol the bottom while the cobra and my female festae stay on top. I would definitely recommend Pimelodus blochii (as long as you get them large enough so that the cincta doesn't eat them). I would assume that they are more active than an irwini.
