my new discus

my girlfriend has begged me for years to get her some discus. i always thought they were hard to keep. so i finaly broke down and bought her 3 6" dicus of some sort and i ended up loving these little guys. they are not as hard to keep as alot of people say. so here are some pics...

i got them from jans tropical fish. i don't think that they are wilds as i paid $70 for all 3 but who knows.

nice discus.. i too think they are some wild strain of some short.. maybe browns?..greens? i paid 35 bucks each for wilds... 70 is steal!! awesome pick ups

They look like wild blue/browns to me.

Very nice fish, they look like wild-type browns to me. How do they get along with the 'Geophagus'?

Based on the amount of blue in these fish they would actually be classified as blue discus, however since blue and browns are considered the same species just different color variants it really doesn't matter. Nice fish either way.

Beautiful wilds! Unless they are all of the same sex, you may want to go pick up 3 more...that would be a great number to keep aggression down.
