That's what I have heard. That's why he all by himself in a growout 20 gallon until he gets a little bigger. Then I will introduce him to my 120. What's the growth rate on these guys?
Definately keep some veggie in his diet. Hikari Marine -A- sinkin pellets are probably the best you could feed it. Full of veggies, highly digestable, well rounded food. Their growth rate is relatively slower compared to other JD though for some reason. Maybe its the food, or the water changes...can't really tell for sure! Best of luck for you! Score on the tank!!
If you get a good quality fish, then they aren't to hard to keep alive. Just keep the water nice and clean.
Two of my EBJDs eat nothing but frozen bloodworm, but here in the UK our bloodworm comes from Holland and it's very 'clean'. I've had them over 8 months now. The only downside is they can't grow so quickly on bloodworm as it's pretty low in nutritional value. Little sods won't eat anything else though. I have a third EBJD from Jeff Rapps who eats anything I put in the tank (he started by eating most of my zebra danios!)
