Bichir market is dead here though. I don't shop at lfs for bichirs since they don't ever have anything. Have to look online.

My local Petco manager ordered a specific Senegal for me and quoted me $30. He prewarned me that he didn't always get the specific subspecies that he ordered and that was usual. What I got was healthy and attractive. Our local Petsmart sold them for $15 last year but doesn't sell them any more. My IFS will order specific subspecies. I should price them there.
Happy with mine. Not colorful but great finnage and graceful and docile toward the other fish while still retaining some of the dragon face.
