If you're not careful that stuff is a algae factory. Lots of iron in it. Good if tou arr going planted I guess. I had it in a tank that was planted and as I slowly transistioned away from plants and C02 I started have issues that were not there before with algae. It looks nice. Would you worry about ingestion?

Finding the right size is what I had a problem with when I looked a few weeks ago just to see what it would cost. The best price I could find was about $65 ordered from Walmart of all places which is somewhat odd. Grit size is 80 though so I didn't really like that https://www.walmart.com/ip/50LB-Gar...dblaster-Sandblasting-Sand-Abrasive/837493446

If I do go with a garnet I'll stop into the local Grainger store here and see if they have anything or could suggest where to get it. If I do go with garnet and find some I'll let ya know.
Yeah you want 30/40 I think. I checked there and they can get it but I cant remember exactly why but some thing was really off. I think their pricing was stupid.

Yea. Using it now for a plenum and those plants do like it. Always a risk of ingestion. Since it’s availabe and cheap. Just wondering.

I think Hao Hao just posted a pic of some ljs on what looks like very standard brownish aquarium substrate. The polys color and patterns are very vibrant! But again its Hao Hao so......:clap:thumbsup:

Those guys look good on almost anything. You could probably place them on light colored sand or even black sand and they'd still look good.

What a difference a day makes. The first few days all he did was lay in the corner of the tank and not move much. Even tried burying himself in the sand multiple times over the last few days. Then after eating this morning he started to move around and explore a bit more. Now since I got back home about 8pm tonight he has just been out swimming around like crazy which is really good to see.

On a side note I CAN'T WAIT to get started on the matching 3d background for this tank after the holidays, seeing it bare and looking like this just kills my OCD lol.
