Thats a load of BS if your dedicated enough and have enough funds you can keep almost every animal even an ring tailed lemur(but i do think an social animal like this should be kept as an pair small group). Ring tailed lemurs breed very well in captivity here in holland some zoo's dont even breed them anymore because other zoo's dont want them annymore.

Anyway i really dont like the look on lemur.. looks a baboon or something *scary*

not much of a fan of mammals, unless its a beautiful human or dogs (golden retriever/corgi and etc)

Yeah Z Trip I understand your opinions but on many forums where I see your posts you do not come across as particularly reasonable, if you tone it down a little and use coherant discussion then people will probably hear you better. Looking forward to some pics of this Lemur anyhow.

Disagree. If they are captive born, it is not a problem if they are endangered or not, just like with most animals. Zoos are not all that, and many people can care for these animals, just as well, and in some cases, better. When you said lots of attention, does this mean your going to sleep with them too, as most of the smaller ones (the smallest being the pygmy mouse lemur) are in the main nocturnal. Oh and just so you know, Madagascar is not the only island to have lemurs.

Your are absolutely right, not all zoos know what they are doing. A small family run zoo near me has a converted round corn crib that houses about a dozen ring-tailed lemurs in it during the summer:( .

The thing that really gets me is that they have 2 beautiful snow leopards in a small cement floor enclosure. These are animals have 100 square mile territories in the wild and they now have about 1,000 sq. ft. of floor space. That really ticks me off.

Z trip just because u think everyone cant house these as pets doesnt mean they cant be pets, i highly doubt he is gonna let the lemur just sit in the cage all day and rot, so just relax jeez, your always so negative just because not everyone does everything your way

the main problem stems from when you don't even know the keepers "way". He hasn't even come back to check or update the thread lol.
