stunted discus can still be beautiful fish. unless your planning on entering them in a show, who cares. my only concern is why are you treating them. were they sick? I have had my wilds for 6 monthe now and never put anything besides prime in the tank. if it ain't broke...........

I wasnt meaning to say that in a negative way. Who cares if they are stunted? I know I wouldnt and dont. I think you need to know what to expect from them. If they are only an 1.5" showing those colors with eyes that big they are severely stunted. I am just letting you as you said you are wanting to learn new things and possibly learn how to not ever allow it to happen again with future discus. They are addictive!! People always take it personnel when you say the word "stunted". You will be fine for a while with the 55. Best of luck

Well i shouldn't really say that i am treating them, just that when i get new fish, i usually add mela and pimafix into my aquarium for the first four days or so just for good measure. Those two natural remedies are supposed to be safe enough for that type of use and was recommended to me by my local lfs for that purpose when i first got into this hobby. I have never experienced any problems using those products, but if they are indeed unsafe for my fish then i'll re-evaluate that practice in the future. I want to learn what i can to prevent injuries to my fish.

To be honest, i don't really know what a "stunted" discus looks like personally. I've seen lots of topics in reguards to "stunted" discus, but have never seen it personally, so i'll just have to take your word for it. I'll try my best to take care of them reguardless if they're stunted or not.
