Hey everyone... with all these threads about Bichirs I just couldnt resist... I had to have one... My lfs only had this guy available... so we took him(her)...

I've been trying to figure out what type I have.... can anyone help me ID? Anne? You are the master? Also... how do you pronounce Bichir? I said "bee-shur" and they looked at me like I am from Mars? Anyways.. here are the pics!!

The LFS didnt know which type.... just a sub-species is what they said.... After looking at hundreds of pictures I am thinking I have an Armoured? He/She is about 6 or 7 inches... I love the way they swim around.... and then he just sits there on his fins... All I can say is WOW!!!

Its not a good or bad thing, its just "almost patternless". Typically, delhezis (or armoured as you call them) have dark solid (or in many cases broken) vertical stripes.
Like this. But there are many that have almost no stripes

I agree with street cypher it's a delhezi with almost no bars or stripes. Congrats on your new bichir.

it is a delhzi and when it gets bigger the few stripes it does have will start to show, good luck and how long before your next one?
