From the venting pictures it looks pretty clear to me that picture #1 is female, and #2 is male. It seems obvious that #1 is clearly defined as O O and #2 is o O.

Balton and Modest, I'm curious what makes you hesitate? Besides the body shots appearing male (i agree)

That's what I said about the vent shots but I'm very inexperienced at venting. And the fact they look so much like two males physically it makes me uncertain. You sound like you're positive they're male and female, so if you're sure...I'll take your word for it. :)

1) Camera angle. The photos are not looking directly down on the vent, which can distort the results. Especially when you're looking for differences of 1mm or so.
2) Camera flash. Photo one especially is washed out by the flash, which again can distort the results.

And these are some of the better vent photos honestly.

I could guess but that's all it would be, a guess. I don't like to commit till I'm 100% sure.

If I get new images from the same angle and without / with flash then ID will be possible in a more uncertain?

Kosta You say they are males from the picture of the vent or based on external appearance?
 
Mostly external, venting shots inconclusive in my opinion. I cant be 100% certain but they appear to be the same sex. It is at about this size/age that the coloration differences, which enable us to distinguish the sexes, begins to show.

The bottom line is if your sure then GREAT. You will find out in time one way or the other anyway.
 
It turns out that the dealer that sent here the fish sent only males.
The next shipment should arrive females then I will replace one of the males to a beautiful female the same size.

Soon I'll upload a video of the fish after they have been a few days in the tank and then you can tell me who looks better quality:)

^^^:nilly::nilly: LOL... well so much for that;) and definitely post pics when you do get a female to go with one of your males.
