Is there differences in value between rd kamfas or KLM? How much does something in my size cost around? Does black gravel affect the coloring?

Vietnam Kamalau that came from Leeshop aka Lee Nguyen in Vietnam. More than likely a King Lai or a descendent of King Lai. Nice fish - feed him good with love, and he'll show you some good lovin' in return. 
As far as gravel, with me having dark gravel would that eventually make him darker or around the same color. I like the colors he has currently but just wondering if I wanted to go go light gravel or no gravel. What color would be best?
so I took the gravel out of it like I was reading here, I like the bare bottom look actually. Anyone have any advise on what to run so that all the dirty stuff doesnt stay at the bottom of the tank since theres no rocks now? or recommend a color gravel for me to use if I do go to gravel
