Just got him on Saturday. Anxious to watch him grow. Hes eating his krill/silver sides like crazy. He almost never swims up on the glass like I would like him to but I think he will with time, his last tank didn't have sand in it so I think hes just enjoying it.

Tank is 125gal with a 9inch Royal Clown Knife and a 9inch Sailfin Pleco.

You should put covers over the heaters so the ray doesn't get injured.

Yea that big black tube in the middle has a heater inside. The other heater on the right isn't plugged in at the moment. I'll get another pipe for it soon...

Cute ray, should grow quick on silversides.
Exactly my thoughts... maybe considering a pair of jack dem's but not sure cause presently I only have to do water changes once every two weeks(i test all water params weekly which is how I gauge this).

Looks about 4-4.5" diameter? Mine that size have put on 3/4" a month the first two months on shrimp. Good chance he'll outgrow that tank in under a year so jacks could wait 'til he moves to something bigger.

just a friendly warning, be very carefull with the pleco as they love to suck on the rays. It has happened to me before.

also a CK i had before wouls like to nip at the tail of my rays, both pleco and Ck were gonna the next day.

Yea i know he'll outgrow it, plan to get a 4x2 150gal at some point. Possibly bigger depends on a couple of things. Anyways yea i know about plecos and rays but I've had this sailfin since he was a baby, hes docile towards everyhing i have put him with(including corys and angels)except another common pleco who had an attitxude. ...and the rck keeps his distance for the most part except when the ray jumps he checks out his tail as if it were a fish, no knipping though
