My new (& first) motoro stingray!!

Do rays sometimes go on eating strikes? I did a 70% water change yesterday (saturday) and now today (sunday) my ray isn't eating. He ate yesterday before the water change.
Tank has been established for 8 months.
I have had the ray for nearly a month.
Eats krill/silver sides. Ignored both. Fed twice a day.
Cruising the sandy bottom like any other day.
I did use a new/different water condition yesterday, NutraFin Aqua+Plus.
Before the WC only elevation was 10ppm nitrate, currently 5ppm. *I need new filter media, I'll have it before the end of the week*
Not too conscerned yet...just figured I'd post and see what you all say.
