WHY NOT TO BUY ONE OF THESE UNLESS YOU LIKE EXTRA WORK
Here are some shots of the ro unit prior to hooking it up. This is how it came. Pile of monkey nuts on a platter. Not at all plug & play. The components are smashed into awkward places and not even secured very well to the chassis. Flow restrictor, shutoff, etc. are barely accessible beneath the membrane housing which can't be repositioned due to short hoses. I have since replaced with longer hoses to get it out of the way.
Second pic shows the back plate with bolts poking through. Cannot attach flush to the wall like this and don't want to attach unit to two seperate pieces of plywood. Wanting max stability. This will be heavy when it's filled with water.
Membrane is some off brand which means it probably won't last very long.
Teflon tape they included is pure garbage. It won't even roll off the spool without taking on the shape of kelp. I did not use it.
I redid every fitting on this unit before hooking it up because most of them were loose. Probably used the same crappy teflon tape mentioned earlier.
Very skimpy on water hose for ro and waste water. Only a few feet of each included.
If you haven't noticed already, I rate the pure-flo/coralife 100gpd unit as poor! Decent overall components but expect to rebuild the whole thing.
On the up side, I like the pump a lot. It's quiet and has a generous amount of ac cord to reach my outlet.
