Much thanks again for the comments everyone. It's going to get busy around here when it warms up. I prefer the smells of epoxy and silicone outdoors.

Here's a new arrival for the room, a 55g metaframe tank. Much thanks to Pharoah and Notoriousway for hooking me up with this beauty.
WOW nice 55. Whats going in there??:)

I love them but it's difficult to find one over 10 gallons. This one has a slate bottom and is heavy. The only thing I don't like about it is that I'm skeptical about drilling the bottom for an overflow. Even if I drilled the perfect hole, I'm still thinking it would leak around a bulkhead.

Exactly the way I look at it. What's old is new. These tanks are becoming rare and will probably never be produced again on a commercial level. Even if they made a comeback, they would cost a fortune due to materials and workmanship. I want my room filled with these even if I have to painstakingly add steel trim to all-glass tanks to do it.

FYI, I will be looking into some machining contacts. We might be able to make that a reality.:D

No ways. No I am even more jealous. I think I may be getting as excited about this project as you are. I check it about 4 times a day. lol.

{Would like to add that I am not stalking you} yet lol

The hillstream loaches are going to look awesome. What turnover rate you going to have for them?

As many gph as possible! Wanting the motor to look like the one in my avatar (only with exhaust pointed out the window).

man I need an overview Im jonzein for more pics lol
looks sweet

Oh I am sure you will, how many tanks in total will you have? Or you not spilling the beans yet.

For the hillstream loach tank, you going to make a river style tank or just powerheads placed about the tank?

I have about 40 tanks but most of them are empty right now. Been collecting them over the years. The loach tank (if that's what I go with) would likely be an under substrate jet system that pushes current from one end of the tank to the other. Picturing sand & river rock for substrate.

Here's a relatively new PU. It's a 48" Current light w 4X CF and moonlights. This will be a sweet addition to a 55 or 75g standard tank.
Hopefully this will keep you fish vultures happy for a second or two.
