i would go for 2mm.mine atm is about a 12" and i feed 4.5mm pellets,plus what he eats its well priced being i can buy 5lbs for $50.
 
if you look up NLS debates on the site there you can find alot more indepth info on NLS and there is one member you can ask anything on the product but cant remember his name atm.
 
oh yeah i had a look, it seems like a well respected food :) so ile give it a go, back to the main question am i going to have to remove these malawi cichlids? they are an inch in size at max and arnt bothering either the gg or flagtail yet. so just play a waiting game and keep a close eye?
 
on the part of the malawi cichlids i cant say since a GG's differ from mine in temperment so yanbbrox,piggy67 or pi-eyed will be far better to answer that question.
 
and eating? he has only been in the tank 1 day and i have changed the tank about, putting in a large bit of bog wood and some air stones. but i have fed him 3mm pellets which i have now :) and also have tried small pellet mixed with some flake, he doesn't seem to be interested in eating at the moment which worries me :(
