Mine had the same hump when I got it thought it was male the hump got bigger and guess what it layed eggs .. either way great looking fh

yeah, tht can be possible. i can accept it as a female if it has dorsal spots. lol any pics of it?

How do you sex a fader flowerhorn. I have a 4" fader but don't know sex. Thanks

sex can be identify :
1 - check out the dorsal fin. if it has spots on it, it is a female. (however males can have them too)
2 - check out the size kok. if it has a big or a promising size kok, it will surely be a male (which females can also have em too)
3 - vent it, the 'U' shape anal would be the female while the 'V' shaped anal would be the male.

Nice looking flowerhorn but I'm sure his colors and the fish it's self would look better with natural substrate then the clown puke gravel he's on now

yeah the gravel has to go. I personally like natural,or black.my guess is male ,but venting is the best way
