Thanks guys, I am so in love with this fish! I cannot wait for him to come out of quarantine so he can go in my super big tank. And I am located near Fort Smith Arkansas

Wow! He's awesome!

So about 10 days after I got the original posted fish, I fed him some pellets and he was coming to the top of the water to take them from my fingers and, 5 minutes later, he stopped swimming and drifted to the bottom of the tank, nose first and died. It was the most slow motion crappy thing I have ever witnessed and I cried.

I went back to the breeder and he gave me a good deal on another FH and also gave me one for free, awesome guy. Tonight I was feeding them and something spooked the fish and I thought one jumped right out of the tank. I searched the tank, the floor, the christmas tree (right next to the tree), nothing! I ugly cried over a freaking fish. I blamed the cat, assumed he ate it before I could find it.

30 minutes and a disgraceful meltdown later, here is this stupid fish swimming at the front of the tank looking for food! I wasnt aware that owning such an amazing fish was going to cause so much heart ache :( I have double pneumonia and think the meds are making me crazy. But here he/she is, swimming around unaware that I am a sobbing lunatic. It was the best picture I could get.

Idk what to say...the death on the original fish could likely have been because of chemicals of some sort maybe :/ Where you wearing any strong perfume? I wouldn’t have jumped on the idea of getting two more flowerhorn right after one unexpectedly died and the other fish jumping out the aquarium could have been attributed to something still being messed up in the water. Just a thought

I think sudden death should have been a concern. At least put some carbon to filter any bad chemical if any was introduced. The new fish look great. I assume you thought the fish had jumped but it didn't, right?

I tested the water right after he died, everything was spot on, watcher change the day prior, other fish were fine and still are. Something wrong with the water was my very first thought because crap happens, even with the best of water care. I did replace all the filters and did a 25% water change and tested and tested. Nothing goes in our tanks that hasnt been washed, including our hands.

Yes, I just thought he jumped out, he did not. All the new and other original fish are happy and healthy.

I thought the same thing. I bought a blue spot puffer last year and when I went to acclimate it, it went crazy and died. I couldn’t figure out why until I talked to my daughter. Apparently she used my acclimation bucket to mix soap for cleaning. Now I keep my aquarium buckets in the garage labeled “do not touch” lol
