that's pretty badass. what a slow agonizing death. I would imagine that's what a zombie attack would feel like. the fish didn't seem to give much of a fight like I thought it would.

I don't know if I buy this one. maybe some one found a dead one and gave it to the mantis.
 
Agreed,the mantis just doesn't look strong enough to hold onto and certainly not fast enough to capture a hummingbird?
 
I watched a video of a couple different mantis attacking and preying on hummingbirds. I'll see if I can find it later.

Lol...shoulda known someone here would chime in to the contrary...The mantis in the photo is incredibly strong to support the weight of the dead bird while hanging upside down.
 
I've kept mantises before and they're certainly fast enough to catch a hummingbird not really sure how strong they are
