lace not lance sorry... was watching tv and they were talking about lance bass getting dumbed by his bf and I was laughing... never let your lady control tv when typing... it will make you look odd

ok just picked up the 125 now i need to cycle it how long will it take to cycle?? cause last time i did it to my other 125 i had new tank syndrome... and it was bad... took forever to clear up cuase i think it went though a double cycle... anyways mike i wouldnt mind if my lady took the remote as long as she dont watch something like oprah or anything of that nature haha

One thing, I would keep the dubosi in a species only tank as they are herb. The fronts and calvus are carn. This is will lead to problems in the future. If you dont correct it , you may be dealing with bloat or other diseases.

when you do you next water change on your other tank take that water add it to your new tank... also if you have more than one filter on your other tank, take one and switch it out for one for the new tank... or if you have any filters take one or two of those from the other tank and use them or let them sit in your tank a while. You could also buy some bacteria to add... all of that should help cut time down...

i've already researched about that and they say the only commercial food that is good for dubosi is NLS http://www.cichlid-food-canada.com/article.html i've been using it for 7-8 months now and still no problems!! i am going to get some algae wafers later and or sprunila flakes and plus they have a picture of the throphus on the can of food... thats why i bought it... not sure if i should shop by pictures but ya know... anyways i'm going to look up some info on bloat just to be on the safe side now... cuase i do hear alot of problems with throphus and bloat... and they are impossible to find here in orlando fl...

NLS is a great food to feed them that is what I fed mine when I had them. They also like the spirulina flakes.
To help cycle a tank I would do as the previous poster has said, a good product that I have used is Bio-spira I have used it and added fish right away with no problems although it is on the expensive side.
