Which pic are you refering to? My heater has a heater guard. I admit I didn't do much research before I bought it but I have been doing a ton of reading since then don't flame me too much

Right now the FRT is eating shrimp pellets and a lot of turnip greens, zuchinni, but so far no fruits(kiwis, bananas, figs). Once the box turtle pellet arrive I will throw that into its diet.
How do I know when I am overfeeding/underfeeding the little guy? I notice that it poops ALOT more than I expected

feed it hikari sinking massivores and kiwi. you will need a 300 gallon tank later for that....otherwise id suggest you not keep it. I gave 3 away because i couldnt get an appropriate setting for all 3. i did have one in a 300g but i had fishes in there so I had to sacrifice one or the other

Dude first of and nobody has yet mencioned this, you are full of doubts wich you shouldnt, this are things to ask BEFORE you brougth the turtle not after. Do you have any previous turtle experience? THIS IS ONE OF THE HARDEST, MOST DELICATE AND DIFICULT TURTLE TO LOOK AFTER! They are only recomended to very experienced turtle keepers with loots of space! And you simply brougth it
Also you brougth it wille you were on vacacion!? Do you know this a CITES 2 protected species and that you need a permit in order to import and export any individuals of this species? There is a very good chance your turtle is ilegal. Also you ship her without heating? You my friend are lucky she is still alive! And just look at that "tank" you are keeping her in, all mistreated and full of alge

I want a FRT.
I can never find any avialable and all of these people have them.
I have a 150 Gallon I use outside for feeders and such that will be converted to a FRT tank as soon as im able to get my hands on one. Awesome animal.

lol way to bump a 2 year old post. I am pretty sure if they haven't fixed the situation the turtle is probably dead.

By the way a 150 gallon is way small for a frt
