The Oscar did want to pick on him the first few days, he actually ripped one of his fins, but it's gotten a LOT better now. He only gets chased once in a while, usually after feeding time. It took him about two weeks to stop chasing my RTBS, and another week to stop stalking her around the tank.
My tank is ruled by the Oscar, but the Red Tail Black Shark is always attempting to "fight" the Geo and Plecos, by raising her fins up and swimming in circles around the other fish. It's amusing, a little 2" thing like her thinks she's a big tough fish until the Geo gets tired of it and chases her away.

It's a great looking Altifron! My avatar is of my altifron, just so you have a feel for what coloring you will be seeing out of him. She is one of the prettiest Geo's I have. Alot of geos sold in pet stores come with the label "geophagus surinamensis" and they usually arn't. The name "surinamensis" is a myth in the hobby, everything gets called a suri but none ever turn out to be a suri. Your alt is beautiful none the less. Be careful with having the oscar housed with him, it could kill him. They tend to be mean and territorial where the geo's are considered "peaceful" and typically do not start fights.
