Thanks for the info buddy, i am going to add some water lettuce which i have grown later. i have a 180 and 120 gallon tank waiting to be set up downstairs. You think that will be sufficient in time?

Not to sure where they have been raised, all i know is that they were starting to get real crampt in the shops tank.

Thanks again

the 180 will last a fair while , the width of the tank is the limiting factor , as the fish need to turn round and you still need to fit some heavy duty aquascaping in there , these fish will reach 3ft in a aquarium so the ideal minimum tank would be 3ft wide (as long as the fish ) obviously fish do not turn round like a ship though so i suppose you would get away with a 2.5ft for a very long time (years) , obviously the longer the tank the better , but the things to consider are micro are a fairly active snakehead ,allthough they do slow down a lot with age , a six foot tank would only allow a mature adult to swim 1 x it own body length , to be honest there is probably no home aquarium that can do these fish justice at fully grown sizes, imagine for a moment being locked in a room where you could walk two steps forward turn around and walk to steps back , even a prison cell is bigger than that . so length should be as long as you can afford or house ,the bigger the better , personally i would not keep more than one micro in anything less than a 8x4x4 , but you should play it by ear and when you think the fish is starting to look crammped either upgrade or move on the fish to someone with a bigger tank ( this will most probably mean giving it away as large micros are very hard to sell on ) but at least you will get to enjoy while it is growing up , and it will most likly be a fish you never forget . but you may also get hooked and end up with other types of this fantastic fish .
