Most of the time he's stuck to the side of the tank. It seems my small common black is much more active. One of these nights after lights out I am going to see if the "nug" is out swimming around.

What did you pay for him? I am thinking about adding one to my tank and can get a good sized one for about $35 because its on sale. Does he get aggressive/competitive over food?
He was about $40. $35 seems like a good deal. I haven't seen any food aggression whatsoever. He's probably one of the most mellow fish in the tank. He also gets along great with my common black pleco. A lot of the time they are both stuck to the same rock.

might get territorial with the sailfin pleco, especially since the sailfin will grow a lot faster than the gold nugget. keep lots of hiding places and driftwood so they aren't fighting over the same territory and it may work for a while if not forever. hope its at least a 6 foot tank for the sailfin though
