I'm pretty sure its a Goliath because the guy showed me both species and explained how you could tell the difference by the shape of the tail.

yes the shape of the tail and jaw/teeth structure. Also vatf develop a stronger striped pattern.

Hmm are you positive... I see what your saying but I'm not sure whether to happy about this or not on one hand he wont get to big so he will be easier to keep on the other its kind of a disappointment if he's not a goliath

Yes I'm sure I own a vatf. I had the opportunity to get a gatf as well but opted for the vatf. Should max out smaller maybe 24" and is a much nicer looking fish imo.

I would agree that it is a VATF. Any ATF is nice.
