A few weeks ago, I posted a question to MFK about getting a new small (6-inch) male hystrix to put in with my 1 year old motoro female (16-inch) and if therwcould be problems......Well it turned out great! I got the hystriz from Rapps, and there are no issues. BTW the hystrix was eating chopped nightcrawlers 10 minutes out of the bag! Any thoughts as to what size/age he could mature? I would love pups from these two, but dont know how much longer I can keep the big motoro...the 240 is looking small already!

Looks great... I have the same combo.. You got a while before he will be mature 1-2 years, males mature 7-10"

, I got her at the end of February 2009 at 5 1/2 inches, now she is 16+.....NOT EVEN a year old yet (In my possession).....I dont know what I am doing wrong or right but she is out growing the tank I bought for her to live in for 2 years before upgrading......I guess genetically she is gonna be a monster!? I am keeping up with water, pH was a problem til I added some crushed coral a few months ago, then no more crashes......I have a 10-inch yellow fin mad barb that I swear helps out the filters by immediatley EATING her poop!! Yuck!
