Thats Exceptional growth, I have a Motoro x Marble that I got at 4" and is only 9.5"
and I feed 2-3 times a day with 1-2 50% water changes a week. She was born on
Christmas day in 08. So a little over a year old.
I guess she is just gonna be smaller. Maybe its the Marble in her.
 
i agree that is fast growth rate... My female motoro is about 15" and was 5-6" in June 2007.. SHe has been fed massivore pellets/smelt/shrimp

I did notice that since I sold my male motoro and other half marble that her growth
has increased tremendously (from 6.5"-9.5") since beginning of Sept. Even now that
the two full Marbles are with her. But now she is the dominant ray versus the subdominate.
Just a theory but I have heard/read that a dominant fish releases inhibitors that can
slow the growth of subdominate fish.

I did hear mables stay a little smaller. When I got her, she was in a 10 gallon at the LFS and went into my 220 high (72x24x30). She started out on krill only, but in a few months started eating frozen spearing and nightcrawlers. She lived with a small oscar and the yellow fin barb. As she got big enough I gave her market shrimp and smelt.....In September she was just over 12 inches when I moved her into the 240 wide and she really stared taking off..same tankmates plus a female festae and a Ven pike about 12 inches.......she is fed 2x per day and I do 25% WC weekly.....so far so good on the WC schedule and WQ, but I know sooner then later its gonna get tough.....I have 1 FX5 and 2 big AquaClears on the back, plus some power heads aerating....Gonna get a second FX5 soon......my biggest problem is that I budgeted the 240 to get her through 2 years,.....no way I can afford a 350-400 gallon tank yet.....I guess maybe I gotta think plywood tank or pond soon,but the wife wont like that!:(
 
Your motoro must be on steroids if it's 1+ years and 16".

just don't look. No sense wasting good nutrients.

I wish I did have a fish that ate my rays' poop. Outstanding growth:WHOA:
