My new L200 dies!

I came home from work last night to see my tank temp around 92 degrees and my new little L200 dead on its side. My other two L200's were breathing heavy and looking stressed. I'm just glad I didn't lose the whole tank. I've read about heater malfunctions, but I've never had it happen before.

Sorry to hear about your malfunctioning heater. Some folks use a temperature controller, which shuts the electricity off to the heaters for the thermostat (separate from the heaters) gets too hot to prevent this from happening. Here's a link to a temperature controller:

wow thats no fun, I just got one myself but about 5 inches long, so far I really really enjoy him when I see him which is not that often as he likes a log I have in the tank

The heater was a marineland stealth pro 300 watt. I'll look into the sera heaters, I've never owned one.
