Look it up for more info, but they aren't as mean from what I read. They actually aren't as good looking in my opinion. Leis come from just a small area in Australia, where jars are widespread. Neither gets as large as asian or SA aros.
I moved him to the swordtail tank last night. It looks to be wiped out of stuff small enough for him to eat but I am sure there are lots hiding in the plants. I am very happy with his appetite. I'l just leave him there till he starts taking most of the teenagers, then he will have his own tank till he grows a couple inches. From there he will go in the 240. I have not decided if he will ever go in the 675.
I'll get some pictures up this weekend.
Not true, as they age, their features becomes more define. The barbels grows longer as they grow. Jardinis and Leichardties gets just as big, if not, bigger than Asian arowanas.
My new lei in the wifes swordtail tank. He ate about 40-50 baby through teenage swords in the last week. Started feeding live blackworms Saturday. He was slow to go after them, but tonight he started eating them from my fingers! I got bit by the little bastard for the first of many times. Tank cleaning tomorrow, see how he takes to that. Oh, I almost forgot he eats flakes and pieces of FD krill too. WHOO I will try and get some pictures in the next few days with a real camera. I'm just to dang old to take pictures with a car phone.
They said it was 3" that looks bigger than 3" lol. How big is yours when it came? I just got mine its coming tommorrow
I would guess closer to 4". Hope yours eats like mine does. Good luck. They "only" have 5 left Anthony told me yesterday.
Yeah I hope mine eats too. When I called he said he had 4 left. Im excited to see what they look like up close. your pictures are a bit too blurry. Are they all whiteish color? Any Pink dots?
There is a little bit of pink on the tail. He is a silvery white right now. I will have my wife take a couple pictures with a real camera so you can see it better.
