I wouldn't suggest it is a wild caught fish unless it was bought/sold as a wild caught fish...
In my opinion/experience is simply looks like a faded common Oscar...
In the "Good Ole Days" there were...
Common Oscar or Tiger Oscar... which looked like the original fish pictured here and/or the wild Oscar pictured...
Red Tiger Oscar... The same fish but with red pattern included...
Red Oscar... Red side panels with black/brown head, top and belly...
'Albino' Tiger Oscar... White with red designs on the side...
Red 'Ablino'... same as Red Oscar but with white head, top & belly...
The "Common Oscar" or Tiger Oscar has become far less common and the Red Tiger Oscar has become the new Common Oscar.
But just because a fish has the Tiger pattern with no red DOES NOT suggest it is a wild caught fish...
