What about the aquariums nitrogen cycle?

Did you put anything in the water to cycle the tank or use any other form of a cycleing process.

This is one of the saddest threads I have read in a while.:(

i would never let you touch a fish again! stop abusing wild animals

That's inappropriate. This person wouldn't be here if he didn't care about his fish. Harsh criticism geared toward providing information is one thing, but this is useless criticism. Also, many pets still come directly from the wild, so unless everything you have in your tanks is captive-bred, you're being a little hypocritical. And go easy on him. He probably didn't think about the toxic soap residues in his bathtub or other chemicals in his sink that have stressed his fish out so much. The fact that he doesn't even know about dechlorinator should be a clue that we have a chance to fully inform someone about fish care, not start throwing judgment at him.

i agree nobody knows everything about everything in the start infact alot of people know alittle about something and thats why we are on this form. to HELP and not to make someone feel bad because there new to the fish keeping side the fact is that an effort is being made to had a fish and someone is asking for help. so help and don't be jerks. as for the post get a water test kit and test the water. fallow the directions on the bottle and see what you get for results. you may have to get some cycle to help you tank catch up to the bio-load. maybe try to get some water from your big pond and some rocks to help boost the system.
