Well, there are lots of other fish in the tank, so they get gobbled up pretty fast if I just drop them in. I spot feed my stingrays using pipettes, after I have distracted my other fish somewhere else in the tank.
I've got a 30g sitting empty I could set up as a temp home for a while. Would that be better? I put my female in the big tank in nearly the same condition and she got fat pretty fast. I make sure to pipette feed under the front of their disk until they get enough and swim away from me.
Well, my male and female met for the first time just a minute ago. She moved up behind him, sat on his tail with her nose on his "hips" for about 45 seconds, then turned around and leisurely made her way back across the tank. Very uneventful first meeting (read: good).
How do first meetings between rays usually go? Is there anything I should look for that would be worrying, other than the obvious one of them violently attacking the other?
Does anyone know how old/large reticulated stingray have to be before they are sexually mature? I'm not in any hurry, but other people have been asking me, and I'd like to know myself.
