how fast to pacu's grow?

I had a Pacu a few years ago and it was the fastest growing fish I've ever owned. It's difficult to remember exactly how quickly it grew from about 1" diameter to just under 12" when I had to give it away. I reckon it was less than 9 months though.

It started out as an addition to my community tank but it quickly swallowed almost all of the other fish.

ive had the same experience wit my pacu...
looks like a peaceful community fish until he grows...he thrashed everything...
later on we just dumped him into my uncles pvt. pond
