around here some lakes get up into the 80's during the summer and freeze during the winter. from what i know, they dont mind warm water

Yup that plain old boring fish is a Largemouth:grinno:
Take care of him, these fish are known to get to 25 pounds in the wild!
I've got one and he is one mean fishie and has wonderful coloration. They are very aggresive and will grow fast. They are very hardy and can tolerate a lot of different climates. In the winter they can live in water that will freeze and can survive in water that gets well over 80 gerees! Have fun with him and nice setup BTW

25lbs is a record largemouth. most never get larger than 12lbs. I think the world record was recently broken in CA, it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 30lbs I think. I suppose that under ideal conditions in captivity 25lbs would not be out of the question...

Eh. Depends on where you are. In some FLA lakes the average us around 10lbs. I'm sure there are tons of monsters out there though. Just very smart, they say they don't get big because they're dumb.
