Hello,
Now that the new server is up I can share it all. I waited for this for 3 years - and I'm very happy and proud.
So, after long wait they finally arrived. My female motoro gave birth to 3 beautiful rays - two males and one female. The size of the pups was between 8-10cm (female pup the biggest). That was a week ago. They are all in perfect condition and started eating immediately - blood worms. I was very surprosed but they seem to like also chopped tiger shrimp.
My wife was able to catch them and put them into a nuresary without letting them out of the water (I was at that time on a business trip). We left the parents together in the same tank, but the male was attacking the female quite severly. Her condition after birth + attack +water condition (I believe affected by birth material) made us move her into our bigger tank where she could recover.
The father was still trying to attack the pups even through the nuresary, and was successful once. Thus, I decided to move him as well into the bigger tank with a barrier between him and the female (that was 5 days after birth).
I was amazing to see the immediate connection between the parents - real love. They were smelling each other for a full day. I removed the barrier and they are now happy together.
Meanwhile the pups have for their own the full original aquiarium and seem to feel great. They are very happy and active.
