He's still adjusting a bit, it's only been a day and a half and one Melafix dose but the better of the two eyes has noticeably improved, not dramatically but it's a good start. They said he only got feeders in the store so I may try them (as much as I hate live feeders) to help him settle in and get comfortable. I have him with a few other various dats 3"-5" and a 4" pbass, I think some of the smaller dats will be looking for good homes soon though if anyone's interested. I'm just thinking I want to cut down on the number of fish I have and focus on my absolute favorites.
Looks good ...I would keep the water as clean as possible and not go to crazy with the meds. ...as long as the inside of the eye is not damaged he might recover all the way.
I'm really glad you picked this fish up! just the action of giving him a home even with the bad eye(s) speaks of a committed fishkeeper, and a nice person! keep him in your tank with pride bro!
Good news, NGT is officially on pellets as of today. I thought it was just a fluke the last few times he/she took massivore because of the one blind and one damaged eye but after today I'm convinced he/she knows they're pellets and takes them anyway.
