And a blue light would make him blue lol . Etc etc

I don't really get the idea of shining a light on your fish the colour you want it .
So I bought a pink bulb today and tried it .
I struggle to see anything other than a pink light shining on my fish .
I still don't get it . !

I think you're talking about tanning fish? This only works for reds generally as bulbs that emit uvb helps tan the fish and makes the red more intense. I use 1 white, blue and daylight bulb on my RTG which makes the gold look very nice.

I may pick up a UVB light next time I go shopping and see if I can actually get any noticable difference in the colour . I am happy that he is healthy and feeding eagerly . If I can add some more colour then that would be a bonus . I will try get a good vid done over the weekend

Nice young Aro, I keep mine under ordinary fishy lights no tricks to enhance the colour and he is colourful enough, you can buy under water lights for Aros if you want to go down that road.

I know UVB lights work on red arowana's but I'm not sure whether it would have any effect on your banjar or not. Genetics, water quality and diet are the most important factors for colour in my opinion.
