These might be a bit more reclusive than you are looking for, but are interesting to me in nano setups. The common name is Mini Moth Catfish and they only reach 1.5". I would keep a small group in a tank with the dimensions that you listed.

changed the setup a little...swapped the blasck stones for pebbles removed the annubias and added dried leaves changed the angle of the light and the backdrop from white to black

looks good,Would be good to add something with some great color to the tank, something bright red. Clown loach would be cool but can grow large but they grow kinda slow. other thought was tiger barbs. but something really bright as the center piece would be cool.
