Beautiful pick up's. I would go out of my way for a two spot for sure. Just add's contrast to your collection.
What's wrong with having Cichla in a 40 breeder? Mine have been in the 40 breeder since they were egg's. As long as you have strong aeration and O2 exchage (strong power heads for a strong current) you should be ok. A 40g breeder is exactly the kind of tank you wanna have to grow out your cichla imo... more room.
haywood if you get another tank go straight to the 240g it will be worth it trust me if your able. If not then try and get a 125 soon. I know it's not easy so if you have to let a few go and sell to a good friend at least you get to keep the ones you love.

I took the black sand out of my 125 because it made all of my fish ugly as hell. Including my 2 spot monos. My hybrid cat also turned so dark you couldn't even see the spots on his back. I'm no longer a fan of the black. : /
