are you sure about that bro ???????????? she maybe right ......nice pickups - top quality rays
no such thing as a fish begging for food...

quite sure - i have never observed rays 'beg' for food - they constantly forage for food in the substrate but just because they are foraging at the front glass panel does not mean they are begging.
people like to believe that their pets exhibit human behaviour and traits - they do not - they are simply fish
take my peacock bass for example - when they see me approach the tank they go to the right hand top corner and wait for food to be dropped in - THIS IS NOT BEGGING! -simply a case of survival of the fittest - they want to get the food first!
so you're saying when a dog sits near the dinner table and puts their paw on your lap to get your attention for food, that's not begging?
or how about my cat flipping its treat dish whenever i enter the kitchen, despite having a full dish of catfood downstairs?
sorry to burst your bubble, but animals DO indeed beg for food. begging is NOT only a human quality. Nor is curiosity, fear, love, loyalty, or the whole gambit of emotions or actions. they simply do it slightly different from us.
it is known that cats actually USE their cuteness to sway our feelings of them. if a cat is smart enough to do this, why is it impossible for a fish to beg? not all fish have the brain power of a goldfish.
My rays certainly swim to the front when they see me. They're either looking at me because they wonder what it might be like to walk upright and breathe air or they're looking to see if I might throw some food in. How, exactly, is that different to a cat or dog looking at me hoping I might give them food?
How about people who have rays that climb the tank walls and splash water for attention/food?
Do you think cats and dogs are smarter than dolphins? Or octopi?
