well the female is old ($10 @ swap meet,) and you've already seen the male (tonymofo's $10 male.) I picked the male up today for $50. Here they are together..

I hope I sexed them right, what do you guys think? Will they make nice fry?

the female chewed him up a little so now hes in a 10gallon until his 55 is cycled..

i personally dont like them but their not mine but i think they produce some decent looking fry

neither of them are in their prime in these photos. The male was really stressed and the female has been getting nipped up by 20 cryptoheroes. They're only 3-4" a piece too.

He destroyed 3 red eye tetras in the dark, and left the other 2 to suffer.. I've had those things with my rainbow cichlids for months but I needed their tank, that bastard!

Yeah just give it a little time he should color up nicely and his KOK should pop too!!!!

the female looks like she could use some food. i like the male, looks like he'll have a nice kok when he gets larger. take some pics when they're settled and not so stressed.

i noticed your female hasn't really grown or gotten bulky from food yet. i know its been months upon months since you had her. is it possible she is sick? i had a female once very similar looking to yours and would never get full. mine had worms, i had to deworm her.

i'm betting that male will be alot nicer when he is well and eating good and matures a little more.
