My new pair..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've never thought about worms or anything but she is growing very slowly. I've heard female flowerhorns can grow very slowly sometimes though. She eats a lot of food I think she just has a odd shape, that picture of her does not really do her any justice either. Let me see if I can find a older one of her at a better angle.

here are some older shots..

I will try to get some shots of the male, I'm painting the back of a 55gallon today that I'm going to divide them off in.

I like the bump on the female, but her body shape does look a bit weird.

I agree, I figured she would grow out of it and her hump would pop, if she ever grows. She's only put on 1.5" in 6+ months of having her. Like I said though, she's about to be divided in a 55gallon with the male. I'm giving them 82* water, lots of salt, and even more water changes than before. I'll probably start feeding them a few times a day too.

You can get normal internal parasite meds at the LFS. Stuff like Prazi Pro, etc.

So I got some "prazipro" that guapote suggested. It's supposed to treat flukes, tapeworm, flatworm, and turbellarians. I'm going to look into this stuff before I decide to treat my fish with it though, one more day with worms/parasites couldn't possibly hurt her. Has anybody used this stuff? It was only $4.48 for a oz. but looks to be legit.

i've never used it but it sounds like it will do just fine.

no living with whatever worm she "MIGHT" for another day ain't gonna hurt. me don't thinks.

heck i could be completely wrong. just thought i'd throw that out there based on my previous experience with a female i have.
