Just a suggestion: that container looks bone dry? Those are actually considered crustaceans; they breathe using gills, and they must be kept in a damp, high-humidity environment. As mentioned earlier, you should be thinking about spraying or misting them, and/or giving them some sort of low cover to create that moist micro-climate for them.
 
Adding vegetables and fruits will be so cool, seeing them eat it almost like a pleco or shrimp would
I put some food in earlier they dont really swarm it like a pleco would but maybe shrimp but i never kept any before so i dont know they more like cut their food and they leave like little scars in it
 
Also believe it or not But peru is sooo dry and hot i cant believe how people can live without humidity I would think the climate here is like the northern states but then again i never stayed in a northern state for so long i feel like peru is like a desert!!!!! I need my humidity!!!!!
